When you drive up to view the show home on a new estate it appears that all of the stops have been pulled out on the landscaping front and the garden looks as though it has been established for ten years or more.
The lawn is lush and green and all of the shrubs and trees look large and healthy specimens. Sadly, after you have signed on the dotted line and paid the developer his whopping fee for your dream home things change quite rapidly in the garden of your new home.
The shrubs are stunted and barely in the soil, lumps of brick and plastic are visible in the borders and the grass is yellow and threadbare.
Of course, the main reason is the show home is the developers way of seducing you into buying one of their properties and the stark reality is the care and thought, not to mention the very small budget that went into your new garden as far from adequate.
Mike Seaton at the Grass Clippings blog has succinctly highlighted this problem - Would You Buy a Lawn From a Home Builder? Mike's post underlines the perils and frustrations that you might encounter when buying a new build property and explains how Terrain Aeration can work with new home owners, builders and architects in advance and after new house purchase to ensure your lawn has the best possible starts.
